Code for Sustainable Homes

Since 1st May 2008 it became mandatory for all new homes to have a rating against the code for sustainable homes (‘the code’). The code aims to protect the environment by providing guidance on the construction of high performance homes built with sustainability in mind.

Abricon can supply you with an ecological assessment conducted by a ‘suitably qualified ecologist’. Our ecologists have experience in fulfilling the requirements of the code and achieving the desired number of credits by the client.

Your ecological report will include the following section required by the code for sustainable homes:

  • Eco 1 – Ecological value of the site
  • Eco 2 – Ecological enhancement
  • Eco 3 – Protection of ecological features
  • Eco 4 – Change in ecological value of the site
  • Eco 5 – Building footprint
