Improving Your Resource Efficiency
Are you aware that your organisation can benefit from Government funding designed to help you reduce your impact on the environment?
DEFRA are committed to working with Business link to ensure companies have easy access to a wide range of free, impartial and practical advice, information and guidance on business resource efficiency.
Improving Your Resource Efficiency is one of the business support products under the government's “Solutions for Business” portfolio.
Funding for 2010 – 2012
Business Link South West has been successful in securing ERDF and RDA funding for the “Improve Your Resource Efficiency” (IYRE) business support product.
IYRE is designed to help the South West achieve the Competitiveness Programme strategy to increase the prosperity of the region. It is intended to address the market failure amongst SMEs to realise the benefits of resource efficiency.
Where does my business need to be based?
This IYRE particular scheme runs throughout the South West including Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Bath, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire.
What do I get?
The IYRE business support product will allow businesses to apply for match-funded ''Development Vouchers'' (aimed at funding consultancy support) and Capital Grants (aimed at funding capital equipment).
The absolute value of the financial support will depend on the product proposed and the estimated benefits, however, the development voucher could be worth £2,000 to £3,000 and the capital grant could be up to the value of £10,000. In each case this would be matched (50:50) by the business.
What can the vouchers be spent on?
They can be used for a wide variety of support and products to help a business to improve their resource efficiency. This can include:
Who is eligible?
Businesses must be an SME (i.e. less than 250 employees with a turn over of less than €50m turnover
The Business must be independent i.e. not more than 25% owned by a non-SME
Must be based in the South West of England
The business must be able to demonstrate potential future growth
The business shall not be involved in the production of motor vehicles, shipbuilding, agriculture, production of fibres or be a publically funded organisation
Businesses must not have had IYRE support already
