Abricon supported the British Airports Association (BAA) in preparing their EU ETS data package for verification; ensuring that all required processes/emission sources were included and that sufficient information was provided to allow data to be fully verified.
Due to variety of end users on each airport or “installation” (airlines, retailers etc) it was essential to identify all relevant emission sources included in the scheme, and provide the required historical backup material for verification.
Once that had been established, the BAA airports with an energy consumption figure over 20MW (which is the threshold set by the EU) had to be identified.
As a result, complete data packages for Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted were successfully submitted, enabling the verification process to proceed.
